July 2, 2019

Director-We are going to continue with our collection of resource items needed for Shelter Movers until the end of July 2019. Thank you so much to the parents who have generously donated but there are still items missing from the Resource Bag List and we thought to send the list in case you were wanting to donate. Many of these items can be found at the dollarama. (What is still needed are: Band aids -Hand Sanitizes – Tape Measures – Flashlights – Door Stoppers – Screwdrivers – Allan Keys – Pens) This charity is so important to us at Tiny Hoppers Riverside South. as it is our wish that ALL children live in a safe  and this is our small way of helping ensure this is not just a dream. We also contribute in other ways – by our staff who contribute every Friday with a small donation for dress down Fridays along with 100% of the entire proceeds from our annual summer BBQ!

Infants-We’re ready for summer!
With summer weather arriving, we will have a variety of summer activities. We will use sensory to explore a variety of textures (smooth, rough, bumpy, etc.)Reminder to provide additional clothes for your children (sunhats, socks, shorts, tops, pants,
sweater, shoes, rain boots) as with the warmer weather, we will often have water tables, sand and mud activities out for the children.

Toddlers-The month of July is packed with lots of fun activities for our Tiny Tots! In week one – we will be celebrating Canada with themed activities like; sorting red and white objects (Cognitive), hand print Canada flags (Art), and Maple Leaf
sensory bags (Sensory). In the other three weeks of the month, we would be learning about transportation and the weather. We also will be going on different adventures as we explore the jungle and dive “Under the Sea”! Lastly, please make sure your children always have extra clothes in their cubbies; as we will be doing lots of water play in the coming weeks.Thank you!

Preschoolers-Summer is here and it’s time to throw the learning out the window and have, well maybe not all the
learning, but we think Mrs. Kayla said it would be OK.
The sun is shining, the sky is bright and the birds are singing. Both Preschool classes will be visiting the park and splash pad often – make sure to watch for posts on parent portal and Facebook and on the board at the front hallway. Please bring a change of clothes and towel for the splash pad. We are not allowed swimsuits, due to too much sun exposure.
July will be fun and busy with weekly themes. Each theme will provide different activities and provide creativity, exploration, math, science, language, sensory, gross motor and crafts. All these activities are a learning opportunity and the teachers have been working hard planning around the children’s interests:
July 1 – Canada
July 8 – Mix Match
July 15 – Camping
July 22 – Ice Cream
July 29 – Fish
