A message from our Director: Mother’s Day is fast approaching with our annual potluck for each class – please see your child’s teacher to sign up for this event which will be held on Friday May 11th at 2:30 pm for Toddlers and 3:00 pm for Preschoolers. If you cannot attend or send someone in your place, please let the staff know as we will make sure your child isn’t alone during the event.

A few reminders:
– Parents please make sure all the spring/summer outfits are clearly labeled.
– Sunscreen is to be the lotion only kind, the spray doesn’t cover as well.
– Please provide sun hats and proper clothing attire daily.
– All winter clothing can be removed from cubbies and taken back home.
– We will be closed May 21st for Victoria Day.

Tiny Tots– A new month has arrived and we have lots of fun learning activities planned.

Week 1: In the first week, in arts and crafts, we will be learning about body parts and where they belong. We will be making cotton candy foam (Science & Sensory). We will play heads and tails with animals (Cognitive). On Friday May 4th we will bring in our favourite doll or stuffy.

Week 2: In the second week it is Mother’s Day and we will make our Mother’s Day gift and card (Art). On Friday May 11th we will wear a pink shirt. We will also play with magnets (Gross Motor). Tiny tots will practice squeezing water to work on (Fine Motor Skills).

Week 3: The third week our theme is about trains. We will make lots of different trains for art, we will also count our trains and colour sort them (Cognitive). On Friday May 18th bring your little train for our paper train table!

Week 4: The fourth week our theme is transportation. We will color sort cars (Cognitive). We will have an experiment called dancing rice (Science & Sensory). On Friday May 18th the children need to bring a book about transportation.  The dramatic play area will focus on a school.

Week 5: The fifth week is about dinosaurs and there will be a dinosaur egg hunt and the sensory bin will be filled with Dino eggs (Sensory) and we will count and color sort dinosaurs (Cognitive).

Tiny Tykes 1 & 2

Week 1: We will use our Creativity to make a piñata for Cinco de Mayo. We will go to the park to work on our Physical Fitness and Gross Motor Play.

Week 2: We will be having a Mother’s Day tea party on Friday May 11 at 3 pm. We will be having a variety of Sensory Play in the water table.

Week 3: This week is Science week. We will be creating a variety of Science Experiments.

Week 4: Art in the park!

Words from the Cook:  HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! We will be introducing a new menu for the month of May posted at the front for all to see! Some new meals we are trying with the kids are Beef Steak with Noodles and Mixed Vegetables, Tuscan Chicken Linguine and Orzo Vegetable Soup with Barley and Kale!! Again we always welcome your input and suggestions, especially for our International Day
