Construction Update

November 24, 2020

We hope everybody is staying safe and coping well with the recent COVID-19 health order that focuses on the areas of social gatherings, travel, indoor group physical activities, and workplace safety.  Like many British Columbians, we have also been closely watching the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the Lower Mainland in recent months.

As much as we would love to have full construction crews on-site to work on our facility at full speed, it just isn’t practical or safe to do so.  Before it became a provincial-wide health order, we already had to make conscientious decisions to slow down the construction pace to optimize chances for continuity.  Following the Nov 7th, 2020 health orders, we have further tightened our protocols which further slowed the construction pace to realistic opening date of March 2021.

We understand this may cause unavoidable inconveniences for waiting families and our goal is to continue to provide you with open and transparent updates about the construction progress so that arrangements could be made for alternative care as needed.  These are extraordinary times and as soon as we optimistically think we are getting back on track, we are tasked with making unprecedented decisions to upkeep our safety standards which adversely affect our planned completion schedule.

We would like to thank the families for your unwavering patience and understanding as we continue to make conscientious decisions to adhere to the everchanging landscape.

Sincerely,

Tiny Hoppers, Queensborough
