Busy Bees!

May 4, 2021

With the warmer weather, our toddler group at Tiny Hoppers Sportsworld has been very interested in pointing out all the different bugs they are seeing outside! To build on this interest, the wonderful teachers centered their program based on this interest and created their own classroom bee hive – from the dramatic center, to art, fine motor activities and literacy/numeracy. Building off children’s interests is the best way to have them learning through play because they are more likely to be engaged in the learning objectives more naturally. The dramatic area allows them to explore and use their imagination, art provides them with sensory and creative opportunities, fine motor activities help them develop their grasp with tongs and hand eye coordination with drawing lines from bees to hives, and literacy/numeracy through circle activities, photos, and counting bees! The possibilities to expand on children’s interests while still learning are endless!
