All Aboard the Polar Express to the North Pole!

December 12, 2024

It’s December and that means a world of possibilities in a child’s imagination! While Christmas tends to be a main focus in December, our educators love any opportunity to immerse the children in all things that have to do with the magic Christmas, but also Winter and the changing seasons!

Our wonderful educators created the Polar Express for our toddlers, which took them to Santa’s magic village over in preschool! These magical villages were set up using a variety of loose parts, as well as items from around the classroom. The children were in awe as they let their creativity run free! Some children were playing family, sharing their own traditions from their memories of Christmases they’ve experienced so far. This fosters a sense of engagement, well-being and encourages social relationships as they become more self aware.

Driving the polar express up and down the tracks helps work their fine motor skills, and teamwork as they navigate driving the swirly tracks with their friends.

These fun, open-ended activities allow children to explore at their own pace, and make up their own stories as they go. Giving the children the tools they need to foster their own creativity encourages self appreciation and awareness.

We are so excited to share our upcoming activities for the Holidays, stay tuned!
