Our littlest toddler group has been extremely interested in food, how food is made, and how it tastes! They have been especially interested in ice cream, since it’s Summer now!
Our incredible team of Educators thought it would be a great idea to have the children make their very own frozen yogurt ice cream, from start to finish! They gathered all of the materials needed, and the recipe, and the children all took turns sharing the utensils to mix, mash, and whisk up the fruit and yogurt! They helped pour it into the popsicle molds, and they even got to eat them, of course!
The toddlers absolutely loved being able to take part in making the frozen yogurt. They enjoyed learning how to use different kitchen utensils, as well as tasting their own creations!
Cooking is a valuable life skill that teaches children about health and nutrition, food safety and cleanliness. Activities like this where the children get to actively, hands on participate also fosters math skills, Science, literacy and fine motor skills, as well as their senses! They got to taste, touch, test and smell the entire activity! They were very excited about making this very healthy version of ice cream!
