Our tiny tots are huge on cause and effect and loved working on their fine motor skills with this great outdoor activity using contact paper! Our tots are using their muscles in their fingers to grasp leaves and sticks and stick them to the contact paper. They are also finding out that it’s not as easy to simply remove them from the contact paper after sticking things to it. Will the leaves peel off easily, or will they rip? What is the heaviest object we can stick to the paper without it falling off?
Doing this activity outdoors allows our children to explore the outside world freely, and all of the different materials they could find to try and stick to the paper! Would a pinecone stay up? Could we put some sand on it? The questions and possibilities that stem from this activity are endless, and our tots loved this fine motor, sensory learning activity outdoors in the fresh air!
