Fine Motor Development

Fine motor development is one of the major developmental functions for a child. Fine motor skills consists of the pincer grasp, the coordination and ability to hold and item with the thumb and index finger, and the palmer grasp, the ability and coordination to close their fists around an item. the development pf these skills and activities we prepare help foster this development to help the children grow. Some of the ways we challenge the children to help develop these skills is to use eyedroppers, the coordination to squeeze and release the contents of the eyedropper to contribute to their task. Colouring, holding paintbrushes, bingo dabbers are great activities for toddlers and preschoolers; for infants, grabbing different items, holding items are helpful to the development  to their fine motor skills and it gives the children a great foundations for their future skills and development.
