open-ended vs. closed ended play

During our different activities, our friends enjoy a wide range of activities. As a play based and emergent  curriculum our activities are child led and open ended activities. Open ended activities are wide open and have no end in sight and no final product. Give the children paint, an assortment of mediums and that can also encourage their imaginations and creativity. Activities that are child led are changed at any moment at the child’s interest and their imagination, activities that are adult led have a final product and have different rules. Child led experiences is how a child can manifest independence and self confidence and their growth through play.
