The children have been talking about fire trucks all week. This afternoon we brought the outdoors in with this snow firefighter sensory activity. The children used their fine motor skills to put the “fire” out using either a spray bottle or eye dropper. They all came back for second turns. The children are able to use the eye dropper with their pincer grasp to hold it and squeeze out the paper to “put the fire out”. They were also able to explore with the snow and seeing it melt in the bin and practice their fine motor skills with holding and using the spray bottle. This activity was great and the children enjoyed playing at it for hours.
