Two of Ottawa's leading children's professionals have teamed up! Tiny Hoppers is now offering an exclusive Karate for Kids Program operated by Douvris Martial Arts. Douvris Martial Arts in Riverside South is owned and operated by Sensei Fortunato Aversa and Sensei Domenic Aversa both 4th degree Black Belts. Both started their karate careers under the tutelage of John Douvris in 1986 and 1985 respectively giving them over 45 years of combined experience in the martial arts field. Fortunato and Domenic are also the proud owners of the Douvris Martial Arts Westboro Location since August 1996. Both have dominated the tournament circuit worldwide for over 17 years, making them respected martial artists world wide. They are known around the world as the AVERSA BROTHERS. Fortunato and Domenic Aversa have won numerous gold medals in karate sparring at the Karate World Championships dominating the lightweight and superlightweight divisions for over 15 years. Fortunato has also won prestigious awards such as A.C.T Amateur Athlete of the Year (2 years) and Canadian Martial Artist of the year. Come Join Ottawa's Premier Karate School!
Our program helps children develop their self-confidence, coordination, gross motor and listening skills. It teaches them how to exercise, how to execute basic punches and blocks, basic kicks and kata (pre arranged forms of set movements and techniques). Douvris also teaches the children when and where they are to use martial arts through *bully proofing* and *stranger danger awareness*
